FIREFIGHTERS spent two hours battling a large blaze which swept through an industrial waste disposal site in Bramford.
The fire broke out at the Biffa Waste Services Ltd in Paper Mill Lane at around 8.50pm last night.
Two crews tackled the inferno, which engulfed a 150m x 40m pile of rubbish, and they used a mechanical digger to release hot spots buried in the mound.
The fire was brought under control at around 10.40pm, but a fire officer remained on scene throughout the night and was due to liaise with the company's owner this morning.
