FIREFIGHTERS have battled to contain a massive blaze at a timber store in Lowestoft today.
Six crews were needed to surround the inferno, which took hold at the Rushmeres DIY centre in Newcombe Road at around 12.30pm.
Four pumps were initially despatched at around 12.30pm, but two more were drafted in to help.
A spokesman said firefighters moved “a large quantity” of timber away from the single-storey building and the blaze was under control by 2pm.
