Mecca Bingo has created the Poppy Power bingo game, with 5p from each play being donated to the charity.

It comes as The Royal British Legion marks 100 years since the end of the First World War.

The Ipswich branch is encouraging bingo fans to help raise as much money as possible by taking part in the charity game, which will run for 100 days until Remembrance Sunday on November 11 – with the aim of raising £100,000.

Ali Strickland, general manager at Mecca Ipswich, said: “We are very proud to be supporting The Royal British Legion in this centenary year.

“The new Poppy Power game will be live in club for 100 days, helping to raise vital funds and awareness for the Legion.

“Between team members and customers, we’re confident we will hit our £100k fundraising target.”
