Fire crews attend oil tank fire in Mendlesham Green

Firefighters were called to Mendlesham Green this morning Picture: Archant Library.

Crews were called to the scene at 4am this morning.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue had initially been called to a house fire but on arrival found an outbuilding and a heating oil tank on fire. This fire had then spread to the house.

Four crews attended the incident from Elmswell, Debenham, Stowmarket and Needham Market.

The officers used breathing apparatus, jets, hosereels and thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire.

A stop was called on the incident at 5.45am
