THE inquest into the death of a stock car driver in west Suffolk has been opened.
Steve Newman, 37, from Spalding in Lincolnshire, died after a major accident during the British Championship saloon stock car race meeting at Mildenhall Speedway Stadium in West Row on Saturday.
He was competing in the race when the accident happened. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11.35pm after paramedics spent 20 minutes trying to revive him.
