A MISSING man whose body was discovered in a lake died of drowning, it emerged tonight.
Michael Baker, who worked as a site construction manager for Matthew Homes in Ipswich, was discovered in a lake near Shefford, Bedfordshire, on Tuesday.
The 55-year-old had been missing from his home in Letchworth GC since 5.30am on Tuesday last week. He had left his car, a silver Vauxhall Vectra, in a lay-by on the A507 Ampthill Road.
Specialist underwater teams from Hertfordshire police discovered his body during a search of the lake at Beadlow Manor Golf Club.
An inquest into Mr Baker's death opened and adjourned today.
A spokeswoman for Bedfordshire police said the cause of death was given as drowning.
