The two thefts have prompted a warning to horse and yard owners to review the security of their properties.

Five pallet loads of stable fronts - which included wooden stable doors on metal runners - were stolen from premises in Newmarket between 9pm on Friday and 11am on Saturday.

In addition, over £12,000 of equestrian equipment, including saddles, bridles, wheelbarrows, a fence energiser and clippers, was stolen after a number of tack tooms at a yard in Carlton Colville were broken into between 9pm and 6.30am the same night.
