POWER has now been restored to all customers on the Moreton Hall estate in Bury St Edmunds following an earlier undergound cable fault.

Originally 2,605 customers were affected, but UK Power Networks engineers have restored power to 1,117 customers within five minutes, to 274 customers at 3.08pm, a further 876 customers at 3.32pm and the final 338 customers at 3.57pm.

Power was lost following an underground cable fault on the high voltage network at 2.40pm.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “We appreciate how difficult it is to be without electricity and apologise to all those affected.”
