A WOMAN is fighting for her life and her three-year-old son seriously injured after their car collided with an ambulance answering a 999 call.The 30-year-old woman, from Harwich, is in a critical condition in hospital and the boy is said to be "serious but stable" following the head-on crash on the A120 at Wix at midday on Saturday.

The 30-year-old woman, from Harwich, is in a critical condition in hospital and the boy is said to be "serious but stable" following the head-on crash on the A120 at Wix at midday on Saturday.
Paramedics in the ambulance were unhurt and there were no patients on board at the time. Ambulance bosses said an inquiry is under way.
