A motorcyclist has escaped serious injury in a crash on the A14 which caused major traffic delays this morning.

A motorcyclist has escaped serious injury in a crash on the A14 which caused major traffic delays this morning.

The biker was riding a black Yamaha when he was in collision with a car near the A14 junction with the A11 at 7.40am, blocking one lane of the road.

Traffic on the westbound stretch backed up as a far as Saxham, near Bury St Edmunds, but the road, which was cleared with the help of a crane, fully reopened at 9.15am.

It was not believed anyone needed hospital treatment following the accident.
