TWO women have been taken to hospital in a spate of road accidents around Suffolk this afternoon.

Police are also out in the Sudbury area searching for a driver who sped away from the scene of a shunt in the town at just after 2.45pm.

They were alerted to the accident after a woman, who was said to be shaken from the crash, walked into Sudbury Police Station to report the driver who left the scene.

At just before 3pm a woman was taken to Ipswich Hospital after she was involved in an accident with another vehicle near the A12 roundabout on Foxhall Road, Ipswich.

Another woman had to be taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds after the vehicle she was travelling in was involved in a crash on the eastbound slip road of the A14 at Elmswell.

A police spokeswoman said all areas are now clear.

None of the casualties were thought to be seriously injured.
