A TEENAGE mugger who gave his victim change after threatening to “knock him out” unless he gave him �10 has admitted robbery.

A TEENAGE mugger who gave his victim change after threatening to “knock him out” unless he gave him �10 has admitted robbery.
Magistrates heard yesterdaythat the victim was with friends in Christchurch Park, Ipswich, at about 7.15pm on May 1.
A group of other youths, including the 17-year-old defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, called to the victim's group asking for 50p.
The victim replied by saying he only had a �10 note leading to the defendant to shout “give me your money or I will knock you out”.
Fearing for his safety, the victim handed over the �10 and was given �2 to �3 in change by the defendant.

At South East Suffolk Magistrates Court in Ipswich yesterday, the 17-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to robbery. He also pleaded not guilty to a further charge from a separate incident on the same day of assault by beating.
He was released on conditional bail.
A pre-sentence report will be carried out before he is sentenced on July 7. A date is expected to be fixed for his trial in relation to the assault by beating charge on June 30.
