A TEENAGE boy remains in police custody today after being arrested on suspicion of murder after the discovery of a body at a house in Colchester.
The 15-year-old is set to be questioned later today after the body of a 59-year-old man was found at a house in Lucas Road, off Mersea Road.
Neighbours said the victim was a “wonderful bloke” and expressed their shock at the events, which saw about 10 police cars attend the scene at about 6.40pm last night.
One Lucas Road resident, who did not want to be named, said it was “unsettling” to think that someone had been killed so close to her home.
She said: “My daughter rang me at 11pm to say it was in the news. I was so shocked.”
A post mortem is set to take place later today and police are expected to confirm the victim's identity.
