A MAN has appeared in court accused of the murder of a woman in Chelmsford.
Marc Chivers, 41, appeared before magistrates in the town today accused of killing Maria Stubbings, 50.
Ms Stubbings was found dead at her home in Pitfield, Chelmsford, by police on Friday. A post mortem examination found she had died of asphyxiation.
Chivers, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody after his appearance and will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 16.
