BRAVE neighbours beat their way through flames and thick smoke to rescue an 81-year-old man from his burning house on Friday night.
Essex Fire and Rescue Service has commended three men for their “extreme bravery” after they pulled their neighbour out of a fire in Francis Way, Colchester, just before midnight.
They were alerted by another neighbour, a woman who was looking after her baby, who spotted the fire when she heard a smoke alarm.
