COVENTRY have been docked the points scored by Scott Nicholls in last Monday's Elite League fixture at Brandon. The score has now been amended to read Coventry 45 Ipswich 36 from 55-36.

Ipswich rode under protest as they believed Nicholls' average was too high for him to fit into the Bees side.

The Speedway Control Bureau heard the protest and today issued a statement that said that the Coventry re-declaration was not approved as required under the regulations that state that the BSPA management committee have sole responsibility to approve all declared and re-declared line-ups.

Coventry have been told they must conform to an approved line-up for their next meeting otherwise the team will be deemed illegal and the SCB will deduct all points scored by their riders.

This decision will open the door for Ipswich to take another look at trying to bring Nicholls into their ailing side. Or the Bees will have to off-load one of their top riders to allow Nicholls to join them.
