Nominations keep on coming for Abigail’s Collection and The Groom’s Room

Essex-based weddings business Abigail’s Collection and The Groom’s Room has chalked up an impressive 20 awards since its launch in 2005, and is currently in the running for more national titles.

The Colchester firm has been nominated in three categories of the 2015 Bridal Buyer Awards which are due to be presented during the British Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate in September – UK Menswear Retailer of the Year, UK Bridal Retailer of the Year and Best UK Customer Service Team.

Susi Rogol, Bridal Buyer Awards director, said: “These awards recognise excellence in all sectors of the bridal industry – from the retailers who deliver the best possible level of customer service, to the suppliers who consistently stay ahead of the game with superb, fashion-forward offerings.

“Walking away with a coveted trophy in this internationally respected awards programme is a phenomenal achievement, as is reaching the finals.”

Abigail’s Collection and The Groom’s Room has already celebrated success this year, having been named UK Menswear Retailer of the Year in January at the Wedding Industry Awards, where it was also Highly Commended in the UK Bridal Retailer of the Year category.

This followed on from a double win in the East of England regional round of the awards last November where the business won the Bridal Retailer of the Year title as well as the menswear award.

Previous successes include the Best UK Menswear Retailer title at the National Bridal Buyer Awards in 2013 and the Best UK Bridal Customer Services Team award at the same event in 2011 and both the Best Menswear Supplier and Best Bridal Retailer titles in the East Anglia round of the Wedding Industry Awards in 2012.

The business serves several hundred wedding customers every year at its store in Colchester’s High Street, which extends to 2,500sq ft, spread over four floors, and has departments designed specially for each member of the wedding party – bride, groom, best man, ushers, bridesmaids, flowergirls, mother of the bride and the mother of the groom.

The business has also expanded this year by opening The Groom’s Room at Martels Events Village at Barnston, near Great Dunmow.

Rob Neill added: “We have a great team and a special wedding retail concept; we offer private appointments, complimentary refreshments and a great shop atmosphere. It’s a really exciting time for us as a business having opened our second retail location. All in all it’s shaping up to be another really brilliant, busy and exciting year for us.”

Looking ahead to the Bridal Buyer Awards next month, Abigail said: “Win or lose, the evening will be amazing and very exciting; we are so proud to be up there with the best of the best within our industry and although winning would be totally fabulous we are just genuinely delighted to have been nominated and achieved a finalist position within three amazing categories.

“It feels like a long time to wait until the awards ceremony in September, so I guess you could say watch this space, we have everything and more crossed!”
