Police have raided premises across East Anglia as part of a crackdown on organised people trafficking and prostitution.

A brothel in Norwich city centre was understood to be among those targeted in the raids, co-ordinated by the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (Soca).

Norfolk police confirmed the raids were taking place but were unable to give further details.

In Ipswich, officers raided a working brothel where three Eastern European women were discovered, believed to be involved in the sex trade.

Police swooped on at about 3pm on premises in London Road, the same street on which Steve Wright, convicted of the murder of five sex workers in 2006, lived.
