A PENSIONER who was beaten unconscious and robbed by an armed gang has told how the vicious attack has left him suffering from nightmares.

Police have released a picture of battered and bruised Colin Dunn, 75, in the hope that people will come forward with information about the “despicable attack”, which happened last Thursday.

Colin Dunn, 75, was travelling home to Frinton from a pub in Walton, when he was approached by two men and a woman who demanded his wallet.

When he refused he was punched in the face and threatened with a knife, which caused wounds to his hands as he defended himself.

He was left unconscious on the ground as the robbers fled.

Mr Dunn said: “These people have not only left me with physical injuries but I still also suffer from nightmares where I relive the events of that night.

“I would ask anyone who has any information to contact the police.”

The attack happened between midnight and 1am in Frietuna Road at its junction with Elm Tree Avenue in Frinton.

The first attacker is described as white, about 6ft tall with jet black hair which was spiked and a pale complexion. He was wearing a black jacket with the collar up and dark trousers and was about 30 years of age.

The second man was also white, shorter than other man, he was thick set and in his 30s. He was also dressed in dark clothing.

The third was a woman, who was white and in her 40s.

Dc Kevin Ford said: “This was an attack on an elderly man by three people intent on theft.

“I find it absolutely despicable how someone could do this and I would appeal to anyone who may know anything, however small, to come forward so we can get Mr Dunn the justice he deserves.”

Anyone with any information about this incident is being urged to contact Clacton CID on 0300 333 4444 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
