COASTGUARDS and bomb disposal experts were called after the remains of a device were discovered at Orford Ness yesterday morning.
Thames Coastguard sent the Aldeburgh Coastguard crew to the scene around 9am, after receiving a report.
The team located and marked the device and confirmed it as ordnance.
An army bomb disposal team attended and identified the item as the remains of a target bomb, which was subsequently taken away and destroyed.
