A COLLSION in which a pedestrian was killed on a Norfolk dual carriageway caused severe problems for traffic entering Suffolk.

The accident happened at around 8.15am on the A47, close to the junction with the A140 near Norwich.

It is believed the male victim suffered a heart attack as a result of his injuries after being in collision with a lorry.

Paramedics tried desperately to revive him, but he died a short time later.

Police closed the westbound carriageway and put diversions in place while emergency services dealt with the scene.

Long tailbacks created access problems to the A140, a major road into Suffolk.

The road was re-opened just before midday.
