The heartbroken wife of a master baker who died in a motorbike crash has paid tribute to the “doting father and fantastic husband” who was also her best friend.
Neil Moss, 50, owner of The Bakehouse Bakery in Woodbridge, was killed when his black Ducati was involved in a collision with a green Honda Accord near Snape on Saturday afternoon.
His wife Sarah, 45, has spoken of her loss and the kind, caring father who worked tirelessly to support his family.
“Neil was a fantastic father a loving husband and incredibly hard-working,” she said.
“He was honest, caring, spontaneous and had a great sense of humour.
“He was my best friend – to me he was perfect.”
The couple met at a friend’s barbecue 13 years ago and would have celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in October.
They had two children together, Francesca, seven, and Isabel, five, who are also coming to terms with their loss. Mr Moss also had a 20-year-old daughter Ellen from a previous marriage.
On the day of the accident, Sarah, who worked with her husband at the bakery, had made a two tier cake decorated with a motorcycle for the family to enjoy that evening as they celebrated his 50th birthday at the Cretingham Bell.
She delivered the cake, fed their horses and visited Bark in the Park in Woodbridge while Mr Moss went for a motorbike ride.
“It was his passion,” she said. “He was a safe and experienced driver, and a supporter of bike safety campaigns.”
Returning to their Pettistree home, Mrs Moss was met by police officers who broke the terrible news.
“It was a total shock, I just couldn’t believe it – it was like someone was playing a horrible joke on me – even now it’s like I’m watching a film and it’s not really happened,” she said.
She has thanked her friends, family and loyal customers for their support and pledged to continue her husband’s work with the bakery.
“We will remain open as normal and we hope to carry it on,” she said.
“It’s something he worked so hard for and we don’t want to give that up.”
Mr Moss’s younger brother, Aaron, has also spoken of the devastating loss.
“I don’t think Neil realises just how much, so many people thought of him,” he said.
“He has touched a lot of hearts through his lifetime and means a lot to many people.
“For me, losing Neil has left a huge hole in my heart and I will miss him dearly. I have not only lost my brother, but at the same time, by best friend too.”
