COULD this picture show a shark lurking in the depths of the coast at Felixstowe?

No-one was more surprised than keen fisherman Mark Brunning to find what looks like a fin gliding through the surf off the Suffolk coast.

Three weeks ago Mr Brunning was snapping away while out fishing.

But it was not until he returned to his home in Bramford Lane, Ipswich that he looked back through his photos and made the strange discovery.

He said he took the picture when he was fishing near to the Charles Mannings amusements on Sea Road in the seaside resort.

“I was just taking a few photos and it wasn't till I got home that I thought what on earth is that in the water?” he said. “I didn't notice it at the time.

“I have seen the odd seal but nothing quite like that.”

The 40-year-old said he thinks the fin-like object must be a shark.

He added: “I don't know for sure what it is but to me that looks like a fin.

“The more I look at it the more it looks like it is going through the water but then I think this is Felixstowe, how can it be?”

Mr Brunning said the area he fishes in is flat and there are no obstacles in the water, making it a prime spot to catch fish. He added that because of that it is unlikely to be an object in the water.

He said: “The tide was coming in and there was nothing sticking up in the water I could see. It is ever so strange.”
