Police have arrested a 21-year-old following the stabbing of a man last week near Sudbury’s town centre.

The victim has now left hospital, where he was airlifted after he was stabbed in the back.

Police believe there was an altercation between two men in Waldingfield Road, near the Park Road junction, around 11.45am.

The victim then walked to East Street, near the junction with Cavendish Way, where emergency services were called.

The 21-year-old, of no fixed abode, was brought in to custody at Bury St Edmunds police investigation centre on Sunday, where he was interviewed by officers.

He has no been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
