Armed officers were called to reports of a man in a vehicle with a firearm at Forest Retail Park in Thetford.
The officers were dispatched to the area with assistance from the police helicopter at around 3pm today which resulted in two vehicles being searched in the Bressingham area. No firearm was found.
No arrests were made and armed officers attended as a matter of precaution and at no stage was there believed to be a wider threat to members of the public.
