POLICE are today appealing for witnesses after two men grabbed and stole a teenager’s handbag as she walked along Felixstowe seafront.

The 18-year-old woman was in Undercliff Road West near the Spa Pavilion theatre between 3pm and 3.30pm yesterday when the incident happened.

She became aware of two men behind her when one suddenly approached, pushed into her and grabbed her black clutch handbag, containing cash and a mobile phone, before fleeing.

The second male, who had been standing on the pedals of a red coloured BMX bike watching the incident, then cycled off behind him.

The woman, who suffered a scratch to her wrist in the incident, then returned home and police were alerted a short time later.

One man is described as white, with a tanned complexion, in his mid teens to early 20s, of average build, with blue eyes and wearing all black sports clothing and a black cap with a flat peak.

The cyclist is described black, around 6ft tall, of thin build and was wearing navy jogging bottoms and a light coloured hooded top.

Anyone who saw the incident or the men in the area, or has any information about who they are, is asked to Felixstowe police call on 01473 613500.
