OFFICERS are trying to identify a man who fell off his bike and suffered a life-threatening head injury.

POLICE are trying to identify a man who is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after falling off his bicycle.

The man, thought to be in his 50s, fell off his bike while cycling on a roundabout leading on to the A14 at Tut Hill, Fornham All Saints, near Bury St Edmunds, at about 4pm today.

He suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge where his condition is said to be life-threatening.

Insp Mike Hinshelwood said police would like to tell the man's family about the situation - but they do not know who he is.

He is described as white, of heavy build with receding white hair. He is thought to be over 50 and had a door key with the letters CJH inscribed on it.
