Police name crash victim

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road crash in Newmarket.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road crash in Newmarket.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision on Cheveley Road at around 4.30pm yesterday, where a motorbike had been in collision with a Mazda 6 car.

The motorcyclist, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has today been named as Benjamin Gonzales, a 24-year-old US serviceman based at RAF Lakenheath.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or may have any further information to contact PC Terry Beddington at the Bury Roads Policing Unit on 01284 774100.
