An Essex police officer has appeared in court charged with grooming a 15-year-old boy.
DC Jonathan Davies-Brewin, 49, from Colchester, appeared at Colchester Magistrates Court today, Tuesday, December 12, charged with sexual grooming - arranging to meet a child under the age of 16 - having been arrested on Wednesday, June 14 earlier this year.
The incident is alleged to have occurred in Colchester on the same day of his arrest.
Davies-Brewin’s case has been adjourned until Tuesday, January 9, at Chelmsford Crown Court.
A police spokesman confirmed DC Davies-Brewin has been suspended from the force following his arrest and remains on suspension.
