Two men armed with a baseball bat and a knife forced their way into a house in Clacton and stole a safe containing jewellery.

Police have released a CCTV of a man they wish to speak to about the terrifying burglary which happened shortly before 9am on Saturday, August 11 at a house in High Street.

According to a spokesman for Essex Police, after forcing their way into the house one of the intruders demanded cash from the occupants.

The pair fled the scene with a safe containing jewellery.

The spokesman added: “The four people who were in the house at the time were not injured”

A 22-year-old man from Clacton was arrested on Thursday, August 30, on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

He was released on bail until September 20, pending further enquiries.
