A POWER cut has affected more than 1,200 homes in Ipswich today.

Electricity supply was hit in the Pinewood area of town at about 8.40am, and by 10.25am EDF Energy engineers had restored power to the majority of the 1,270 customers involved.

Traffic lights in the area were also affected, including those at the Copdock roundabout, as well as the Tesco superstore.

A spokeswoman for EDF said: “We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.”

She added that the fault had been caused by a cable being damaged.
