ANTI-EXPANSION campaigners staged a protest at Stansted Airport this morning before the start of a meeting to discuss the future of the site.

An inquiry programming meeting is currently being held at the airport looking at the controversial planning application to build a second runway at the north Essex site.

Members of Stop Stansted Expansion (SSE) protested before the start hearing, at the Hilton Hotel, which will look at how the inquiry will run when it begins in April.

Representatives from the four affected local authorities are taking part in the meeting, along with SSE, the National Trust, airport owners BAA and the Airlines Consultative Committee.
