WILL Quince, an accounts manager for Britvic Soft Drinks at Chelmsford, has been chosen by Colchester Conservatives to be their parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Democrat-held seat at the next general election. He replaces Jill Skalla, who resigned in the summer.

Mr Quince said: “The people of Colchester cannot afford another four years of Gordon Brown and are calling out for someone to champion them in Westminster. I have the energy, determination and passion to deliver change on the issues that really matter to Colchester.”

At the 2005 election, Bob Russell had a majority of 6,277 over the Conservatives, with Labour trailing far behind.
