The first of the three quizzes was held at the FordStore dealership on Ransomes Europark in Ipswich where 31 teams competed

Host was Simon Jay of Seckford Golf Club, Woodbridge, a seasoned quiz master who holds many quizzes throughout the year at the golf club.

The winners were ‘Tiger Woods Driving School’ with an impressive 91 out of 100.

The following Thursday saw the John Grose Peugeot quiz on Goddard Road, with the dealerships own Simon Long, not only taking the microphone as quiz master, but also writing the quiz itself, which had some great rounds including one on charities and another on local knowledge.

Triumphant were team Bran Flakes, who beat 22 other teams to take the win.

The final John Grose quiz of 2017 was at the Ford & Kia dealership on Whapload Road in Lowestoft, where quiz Master Simon Jay returned and 19 teams took part in 9 rounds, after which Ipso Facto were crowned quiz champions for the third year running.

Marketing manager, Jennifer Reed said: “We are very aware of the key role that all of our chosen charities play in our community and the great work that they do to assist and support those in need, so were only too pleased to host the quiz nights to raise funds for them. We’d like to say a big thank you to all those who came along and took part in the events this year, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.”

The showrooms offered the perfect venues for the evenings. “It was great to welcome people into our dealerships who had never visited us before, and to see some familiar faces.”

Jennifer added. “We have a great team here at John Grose and I hope that all who attended will feel very welcome to visit us again – for next year’s quiz if not before.”

Helen Fairweather CEO for Headway Suffolk said: “Headway Suffolk is very grateful to John Grose for raising this money. Every penny will be spent on providing support to local people with a neurological problem.”

Hayley Hancock, head of Adult Services (Health and Social Care) for Suffolk Family Carers added: “Thank you so much for the money raised from the John Grose Charity Quiz Night. This money will go directly to support family carers who are going through a difficult time with their caring role.”
