LEGENDARY rockers Status Quo put down their guitars, drumsticks and microphones to pick up pens and meet fans in Ipswich yesterday.
The veteran group signed copies of their new book Status Quo: 40th Anniversary Edition in the town's Waterstone's store.
And hundreds of fans turned up to meet the group, who played two dates at the Ipswich Regent this week.
Marisa Murray, events co-ordinator at the book store, said: “It was phenomenal - there were probably about five to six hundred people who turned up.
“The queue filled out the entire first floor, went downstairs and outside, all the way down to Laura Ashley.
“The guys were fantastic and everyone seemed very happy - it was really good.
“It's one of the best book signings we've ever done, on a par with Sir Bobby Robson.”
