Community rail groups supporting the East Suffolk Line are in the running for national awards to mark their contribution to local services.

They are among six community rail groups and volunteers in the Greater Anglia that are up for the awards.

Station House Community Connections is in the running for Most Enhanced Station Buildings and Surroundings, for their refurbishment of Wickham Market station.

East Suffolk Community Rail Partnership’s East Suffolk Lines branding project has been shortlisted for Best Marketing or Communications Campaign.

Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership has been shortlisted in the Involving Diverse Groups category, for their Acorn Village Travel with Confidence project.

Jonathan Denby, Head of Corporate Affairs at Greater Anglia said: “We are delighted that Community Rail Partnerships and station adopters across our network have been shortlisted for the national Community Rail Awards. It is a credit to their hard work and commitment, promoting our local railways and supporting local communities, in partnership with our team here at Greater Anglia.”
