Autumn has arrived with mild temperatures and cloud cover, but there is a chance of rain in Suffolk by the weekend.

Some sunshine this morning is expected to be the respite from thick cloud cover for the next two days, with consistent daytime maximum temperatures of 16C and night-time lows of 12C, but wind and scattered rain showers could make this feel like 8C.

A Weatherquest spokesman said: “We see a fairly quiet few days of weather heading into this weekend. We’re currently between a slow moving weather front to the north of us and a high pressure system to the south, so until these move on we’ll have some consistent cloud cover.

“Some brightness this morning will be followed by overcast skies and the potential for some spots of rain overnight.

“On Saturday we are expecting some rain in the region in the form of sporadic showers but nothing too persistent anywhere in Suffolk.”
