Grundisburgh music festival, the Bill Fest 2017, raises thousands of pounds for Cancer in Suffolk.

Cancer Campaign in Suffolk can now deliver more projects, supporting cancer patients in Suffolk, thanks to the support of the Bill Fest Music Festival in Grundisburgh.

The festival is named after the festival organiser, Ollie Billsberry, MD of local company Sleepsafe Heating & Plumbing Ltd and the event raised a staggering £7,251.83 for the charity.

A crowd of over 800 enjoyed great music from six live bands including local headliners, The Alibi Club, families and friends danced, had tasty, local food and drinks in the sunshine; laughed to a hilarious local comedian and the kids had fun on the bouncy castles.

Ollie Billsberry said: ”I am so overwhelmed to be part of such a great community and village that not only made this happen but did it with smiles on their faces. From the bands, sound engineers, marquee suppliers, stage hands, generator suppliers, Grundisburgh Dog Pub and Grundisburgh Football Club; to the brains and brawn who all gave up their precious time for such a worthy cause, a huge, massive thank you.”

“We wanted to support a local charity and everybody, by attending the event, actually gave something back to the community as most people have been affected by cancer in some way.

“Cancer Campaign Suffolk is a brilliant local charity that does such great work in Suffolk supporting individuals and families that are coping with cancer.”

The charity projects cover education and awareness for schools, businesses and community groups, complementary therapy and counselling for newly diagnosed cancer patients and well being and beauty workshops for ladies after diagnosis and during treatment.

Cancer Campaign in Suffolk’s fundraiser Ali Pearson said: “We really appreciate the hard work of Ollie and his amazing festival team of volunteers, who made it such a brilliant, entertaining day, their support has been fantastic and they were a delight to work with.”
