Police are investigating the theft of a rare Ford Escort model worth around £18,000 in Freckenham yesterday morning.
The car was parked on the B1102 Freckenham Road between Freckenham and Worlington when it was stolen sometime between 7am and 11am.
The orange Ford Escort 1300 GL, with registration 0JN 351V, is believed to be worth around £18,000.
The classic car is understood to be a rare, collectible car in the UK, with just 77 roadgoing 1300 GLs on the road – and fewer than 700 varieties of all 1300 models on the road, according to howrareismycar.co.uk, which uses DVLA information.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information as to the cares whereabouts, to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
