Detectives have made a renewed appeal for witnesses after a stabbing in Hythe Hill, Colchester.
A man, 70, was assaulted in his garden at about 5.40pm on Tuesday November 10.
He is in a stable condition in hospital recovering from the attack.
Stuart Pain, 40, from Brightlingsea, has been charged with attempted murder and is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court in January.
Detective Chief Inspector Marina Ericson is keen to hear from anyone in the area who has information, or CCTV footage covering the road or Port Lane.
Det Ch Insp Ericson particularly wants to speak to anyone who saw a tall white man wearing camouflage trousers and a green top.
