Lowestoft's lifeboat was also launched in search of a man reported overboard in the North Sea, off the Norfolk coast.
A mayday call was received from the Pride of Rotterdam - bound for the river Humber from Holland - at around 5am this morning, reporting a person had fallen off the ferry.
A crew from Lowestoft joined lifeboats from Caister, Cromer and Gorleston in searching for the man.
