A HOLLESLEY Bay prisoner has absconded following temporary leave, police said today.

Sunder Meyyappan, 52, who was serving three years and six months for house burglary, was given a temporary release licence to his home address in north-west London on June 16.

He was due to return to the prison on Friday but failed to appear at his collection point.

Meyyappan is described as having a dark complexion and being of Asian appearance, 6ft tall, of medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.

Police are advising anyone spotting him not to approach him but to alert officers immediately using 999.

Anyone who may have seen him, or who may have information about where he is now, should call Suffolk Constabluary on 01473 613500 or contact their nearest police station.
