TRAINED negotiators have been called in to deal with a major siege in Ipswich in which a man was allegedly threatening to harm himself and police officers.
The incident unfolded just after 10pm on Wednesday in Nacton Road, and the road was sealed off while efforts were made to talk him out of a house.
Around 15 police vehicles descended on the scene, including officers in riot gear.
Crowds of people gathered outside the police cordon.
It also appeared a car outside the home where the siege was taking place had been severely damaged.
