Firefighters tackled a blaze at a flat in Ipswich on Sunday evening, after initial reports that people may be inside.
Suffolk police also attended, with the road at closed Grimwade Street for several hours to allow fire crews to tackle the fire.
Despite initial reports saying people may be inside, it was later confirmed their were no occupants trapped.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were called at 9.10pm on Sunday, August 27, to reports of a fire in a flat.
The police were then called to manage traffic.
The road did not reopen until 10.30pm, while firefighters worked into the night to bring the blaze under control and ensure it did not reignite. Crews from Ipswich East and Princes Street attended, with four engines dispatched.
