A VAN driver has been robbed today after stopping for a rest at a lay-by on a rural Suffolk road.

Train services at nearby Needham Market were stopped while police hunted for the robber.

The incident occurred at a lay-by on the B1113, near Baylham at around 4.15pm.

A man had parked up his white Mercedes Sprinter van in the rest area but when he got out a man approached him from behind and stole his money.

It is still unknown if the van driver was hurt in the ordeal or if he got a description of his attacker.
