A Stowmarket community group has raised over £2,000 for local and international causes by running two highly successful fundraising events.
The Rotary Club of Stowmarket Gipping Valley held a charity quiz night and Easter egg donation project to raise money for a range of charities – including local causes, the Ipswich Hospital Blossom Appeal, and Suffolk Artlink.
A total of 14 teams took part in the annual charity quiz night. The three top winning teams were given cash amounts to be used for charities of their choice. Of these, £30 went to Ipswich Hospital Blossom Appeal, £50 to Suffolk Artlink and £100 to Macmillan Cancer Support. The winning team also had six bottles of wine to share.
In total £934 was raised of which £485 was profit, which was donated to Rotary charities.
At the second event, a number of giant Easter eggs were donated to raffles run by local businesses.
