The Bishop of Suffolk has spoken of his joy at a moment of national celebration with the arrival of the newest member of the Royal family.

The Rt Rev Nigel Stock, Bishop of the St Edmundsbury and Ipswich Diocese and a member of the House of Lords, has joined the well wishers congratulating the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their son.

He said: “The safe arrival of the newest member of our Royal family is a wonderful moment of national celebration.

“There will be many prayers of thanksgiving offered in our churches and prayers for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as new parents, and of course for Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh as great grandparents.”
