FIREFIGHTERS in Ipswich were alerted to a blaze on waste ground in Rushmere St Andrew in the early hours of today.
The crew from headquarters in Colchester Road were called at 3.48am to Brendon Drive in the village.
They discovered the blaze had taken hold of a car.
The crew used breathing equipment to help them tackle the flames, bringing the incident under control by 4.02am.
