THE boss of airline Ryanair has today said that the company has no plans to buy Stansted Airport.

Michael O'Leary said that he had no interest in owning the Essex facility, but would happily show any new owners how to build a second terminal for just £200 million, a runway for £150 million and double its capacity to more than 40 million passengers a year.

At a press conference in Dublin, he added: “We've offered to build a second terminal in Stansted in the past and double the traffic.

“But the BAA told us to go away.

“The only way airports make money is to build passengers numbers.”
