Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses following a two vehicle collision on the A12 last night, Thursday, December 19.

The collision happened at approximately 10.30pm on the A12 at Saxmundham/Benhall, near to the junction to Aldeburgh and Snape.

A Volkswagen Caddy vehicle and an Aprilia motorcycle collided on the northbound carriageway.

The male rider of the motorcycle, an 18-year-old who is local to the area was airlifted to the Norfolk and Norwich hospital for treatment to a serious leg injury.

The road was closed whilst the matter was dealt with.

Anyone who witnessed this collision is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Suffolk Police on 101.
